What creative disciplines and historic creators do you study to maintain your creative output?
Co-founder & CEO at Airbnb
Great creative work is always a function of sheer volume followed by ruthless editing. Leonardo da Vinci filled countless notebooks with writing and sketches, yet completed fewer than fifteen paintings in his lifetime. Vincent van Gogh produced more than one canvas a day during his most prolific final years. Ernest Hemingway wrote every morning from six until noon without stopping. Linus Pauling noted that the best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas. You must cultivate the discipline to produce enormous volume without self-censorship, and then curate mercilessly so the world only ever sees your finest work.
