When I moved to Silicon Valley nearly two decades ago, platforms like Facebook were genuine social networks where you kept up with real friends. Today, platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X are broadcast and performance media rather than social networks. There is no longer a dedicated place online to see where your actual circle of friends and family has traveled. Travelers increasingly trust recommendations from people they know over influencers or anonymous reviews. By introducing a travel graph, you can see which of your friends have visited a city like Chicago, view the properties they booked, ask for their favorite spots, and even coordinate trips to meet offline in the physical world.
