How do near-term commercial incentives damage creative work?
Co-Founder & Music Producer at American Recordings
We never consider near-term incentives at any point in the process. Never once. It does not exist in our studio. We are making things forever. We are making things that are truly personal. Everything we make is a diary entry. And if someone does not get it, they just do not get it yet. It was the same thing with Amazon. They lost money for probably 20 years, but they kept doubling down on what they believed in when all the metrics showed it was not working.
